Pumpkins and Trifle

After working with the chintz patterns I'm starting to see them everywhere, even my little mini pumpkins look like they might work well incorporated in some plate decoration. When I was photographing these I pinched a few leaves from the egg plant to roll onto some slabs, nothing new about this idea but I thought they might make nice little sushi plates, I'll use them to test some new coloured transparent glazes on them too.
I bought some glass dishes in an op shop last week to make some slump moulds from but then realised that I could use the cut surfaces to make plaster stamps. I think I'll use them on the sides of some thrown bowls this week, I'd better get on with those glaze test then...and maybe make a trifle?

Looks dishy!
Could you add a tiny bug to your leaves/sushi plates - like a ladybird?
(And oh to be able to grow aubergines like that!)

I think a little winged creature might find its way on to some, I'll see what the glazes look like, and the aubergines are very small! (but I think they're supposed to be)

Nice Meissen video here http://www.meissen.com/
Ali, I do find black type on red difficult to read _ almost have to put up blackout curtains to see it! Is it possible to make the font white or perhaps keep black but bold?

What a great idea to use the cut glass plates to make plaster molds. Love your leaf plates. Aubergines instead of eggplant, how wonderful to have them named that.

Thanks ang, and thanks for the link marianne, I think you were right about the font.
Hi Linda, we call them eggplants here in Australia too but I'm from England as is my mum (Marianne) and so the words get interchanged!

These look beautiful, they'll leave gorgeous patterns in the clay! I experimented with crystal dishes for a while but decided to stick to lace doilies patterns...

Hi Rose, I have to get on with that glaze testing this week or those sushi plates will stay naked

Thanks Kim, yes doilies are wonderful, I've used them in the past with fabrics on my porcelain lights,i love what you've been doing with them, I'm looking forward to using the stamps on some bowls this week
